WHAT IS A SISTER?
She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and your best and loves you anyway! She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion. She is someone who knows if you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink and................

Happy Birthday to you!
Everytime I visit your journal it makes me wanna call my own sister. We don't get along very well face to face but for some reason when we talk on the phone, well, it's nice.
Happy glorious Birthday to you on Friday~~~~YOU deserve a beautiful day!
Hi, I'm dropping in to wave hello. Thanks for visiting my journal and leaving a comment a few weeks back when AOL featured me.
Sigh. Alzheimer's, the long goodbye. My grandfather had Alzheimer's but passed away from other health problems before it got to an advanced stage. Even then, it was painful to see the light of recognition go out in his eyes.
My heart goes out to you and your sister. Keep writing; sometimes words are the best release and definitely the best way to honor her and the love you share.
Happy Birthday, MARY LOUISE!!!!

This is my first visit to your blog, and certainly not the last. The love you share with your readers is an inspiration. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Happy belated Birthday Mary Louise! Hope your day was wonderful!
i loved the pictures.
Your Mom and all of you make beautiful pictures. most of all, i think Peggy's gift "of remembering you" was very special, because its shows how she can be with you in different ways, like my grandparents are with me sometimes.
i feel their presence sometimes.
'who's coming to visit today? "Mary Louise!" today and every day.
A sad thing also, is that me and my only sister are not on speaking terms. I read "what's a sister" those things are very true. I bought her a Birthday gift today just incase we are friendly in July...if not, i figured i'd send it anyway. Even as complicated as things are, I love her...we just have some issues that are in the way of us getting along. i know this happens to folks, never thought we'd be this immature as grown ups.
But you see? You and Peggy are 'together" more than me and Bonnie are.... just in a new way.
thanks for the words of wisdome!
Love, Wendy
Mary Louise, you have my emotional support 100%. I know what you are going through because my dear Grandfather had Alzheimer's before he died almost two years ago. It hurt so much when he did'nt know who I was. I used to do work taking care of people with Alzheimer's and it is such a challenge and it is so heartbreaking to see these people that were once whole, productive human beings that are now reduced to being helpless and dependent on others to care for them and all their needs. It's so frustrating to them to not be able to communicate effectively. My heart goes out to them. You just keep it in your heart and mind how much your Sis loves you even though she may not be able to show it like she once did! I will keep you all in my prayers!
