THE BANGER BUG and THE WINDOW

During the summer months, we have some interesting bugs that come to visit with us.

I do not know the proper name for these bugs but I call them...Banger Bugs.

They bang themselves into the glass of our windows over and over.

It is as if they are trying to burst through the glass and come inside. If they are on the inside, they bang the glass over and over as if they are trying to escape.

Sometimes, they grow tired and drop to the window ledge. Then the bugs start the process all over again, hurling themselves into the window.

The Banger bugs represent Peggy in her struggle against Alzheimer's disease......

The glass represents Alzheimer's disease, the unmovable barrier that she can never break through.....

I Love You Today, Peggy!

It's hard not to make her existance about the alzheimers...it's so there, and in your face right now. But that barrier can't hold back all the love your family has for her. I enjoy reading your journal...even though I'm living some of your pain. I went through it with my Grandfather, and it is helpful to see how others cope. I'm sure your journal is a great outlet for your sadness...and anger. Love to Peggy.

Mary Louise, you all remain in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could do more to help, make a difference, give peggy one more bright day. Your journal is so painfully powerful. Margo

I just finished reading every single one of your entries...this journal has truly touched my heart.  I have 5 little sisters whom I love with all of my heart, and we are all really close.  I can't imagine having to see one of them go through what you have to see Peggy go through...I love the bond that you and your sisters share...Your pictures are wonderful...especially the ones of you and your sisters growing up.  I love the hair styles you girls wore, and the fact that you all wore matching pajamas!
