IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

I called Peggy this morning to talk with her but she wasn't at the nurses station.

She continues to disappear with each passing day.

If it were not for the memories of those who love her...it would be as if she had never lived.

I watched Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life" last night and thought of Peggy.

I also thought about myself.

What would the world be like if I had never lived? Would it be better or worse?

Have I made a difference? Who have I touched as I have lived my life? What have I done to deserve living in the time that I have been given?

I wish that Peggy knew that she has made a difference by living and that the world would be a different place if she had not been born.

No one can be perfect as we live each day but we can treat the street person and the head of a company with the same grace and dignity.

Every person weaves a story as the minutes, days and years slide past.

The question is...

What does our story say about our life?

If we had never lived, would the people in our lives be different?

My parents, my sister's and my brother have made a difference in my life. My husband and my children have made a difference in my life.

Have I made a difference in their lives?

It's A Wonderful Life, Peggy!

Thank you for being a part of my life and for making a difference.

I Love You Today, Peggy!

Merry Christmas...2005.

Dear God,

Help me to make a difference in the lives of everyone that I meet and help me to make a difference in my own.

Peggy will have her memory back some day.
And she will remember all of the lives that have touched her.

Of course you both have made a difference.
=)
Love,
Wendy

Mary Louise, you have touched many lives and have made a difference.  Not only the lives of your family but through this Journal.  You have expressed yourself so vividly and beautifully.  You have taught us to remember our loved ones, be grateful for their presence and continue loving when no one knows it.  God Bless you during this Holiday Season.  Flo

All the best wishes for the festive season, and I hope it will be good for Peggy too. No one is forever lost or forgotten.
Everybody leaves their mark.
I hope the door will reopen for you, maybe in 2006.

I had a lovely reminder of this just recently. A student wrote in her paper that because of my course she decided to leave the man she lived with for 3 yrs who was emotionally, physically & sexually abusing her. Thank You God for letting me know that every so often I do make a difference. And You make a difference in my life with you entries. Thank You!

What a beautiful family. What wonderful memories none of it lost, although it may sometimes seem that way now. But every moment counts. God knows it all and He remembers. Love and blessings to you this season of remembering. Priceless memories for you, and for all of us who had the pleasure of having a sister or a brother for however short a time.

Both you and Peggy have made any number of marks in the world-and this joint journey you are sharing so poingantly is certainly one of them. Margo
