10 YEARS OF WATCHING

Peggy is about the same. A little worse in mood swings but eating and walking.

Her husband called while he was visiting with her last week and I heard her whisper something in the phone to me. I wish I could  have understood what she was saying.

But at least, I got to hear her voice. That is a rare occurrence now.

I kept telling her that I loved her today and he said she got a huge smile on her face.

Amy Li said; Having a sister is like having a best friend that you can't get rid of. You always know whatever you do, they'll still be there.

There was a time when I thought that was a true statement....Until.......................

I started Watching My Sister Disappear.

A sad anniversary, Mary Louise. Yet, she spoke to you, and smiled on hearing your voice. I continue to wish you strength.

I am so glad you got to hear her voice, and to know that you made her smile.

Maybe next time you will be able to understand what she was saying.  I'm glad she smiled really big when you said you love her.

You will be able to understand words she said better in person probably.

OH ... THIS IS SUCH A SPECIAL PHOTO! God never gives us more than we can handle ... you are such an inspiration for being so dedicated to your burden of keeping your sister as part of the world.

Ten years of watching Peggy disappear and you're still embracing all that she was, and is - still loving her as the distance between you grows. I remember you and your family in my daily prayers, and always Peggy.
God bless you, my friend.

i don't often comment, but i do come here to watch your grief, your joy, your pain, your numbness.  you have taught me so much about love.  about having a sister (which i don't).  your love letters to your beloved sister peggy have taught me to be a better person to those around me.  thank you for that.

blessings,

regina
