HAPPY ANNIVERSARY...Peggy & R

Yesterday was Peggy and her husbands wedding anniversary.

Only...............................

She doesn't remember getting married, her husband or how beautiful she looked in her wedding gown.

She doesn't remember how excited she was or how lovely the church looked on that day.

Peggy's anniversary yesterday was just another moment in time.

We never know what the future will bring or how it will change who we are or who we have been.

Peggy and R never realized on that joyous day 39 years ago that they would spend this special day with only........

One of them remembering their wedding day.

And they never dreamed that this special anniversary would be celebrated in a nursing home.

I Love You Today, Peggy!
I will never stop missing you.

I know it's hard for those with loved ones with alzheimers or dementia, we can just hope that they are at peace in their own hearts and allow it to comfort us who miss what we had with them before this illness took control of them.

The tragedy of Peggy's illness never ceases to move me, as each anniversary passes with her sinking deeper into oblivion. Wishing you and yours strength.

Just stopping by to thank you for the comment you left on my post at Rocks in My Dryer.

I read back through your blog. What a beautiful tribute to your sister and what a powerful way to honor her as you cope with what is happening to you both.

I am blessed to know your sister through your words and photos here.

Have you thought about adding some purple to the sidebar? Creating awareness is one small way in which we can fight back.
